Unnecessary “fillers” in our speech. I’d rather have “like” than up-talking, though (if we had to choose one, that is). Ewwww, up-talking. Then again, a combination of the two would render me homicidal maniac.
Like, did you ever notice? That, like, the speech patterns people, like, think are stupid? Are, like, commonly associated with, like, women?
And, like, there’s this thing? Where, like, women aren’t supposed to be, like, assertive? So they, like, qualify their speech? Because, like, we’re not supposed to, like, stand by our opinions?
1) humiliate women so they don’t feel qualified to speak authoritatively about anything
2) humiliate women for speaking in such a way that reflects how you treat her
3) laugh, you are superior because you don’t use words like “like.” It isn’t as if being a huge stupid asshole has ever made you worse than a woman who speaks with verbal tics.
The nail. It is hit on the head.
Pick only the female ad to share on social media. Go wild about demeaning women or something. Totally ignore the male version.
Double standards exist, it’s just that a large portion of our society doesn’t want to admit they go both ways.
Calling Coachella out for…what, exactly? Attendees exercising free will to wear what they want and have a good time? How dare people at Coachella have fun! How dare they act peacefully and appreciate other items of clothing! How dare they wear things that they find interesting and appealing?!?!! How dare humans…wear?! clothes!? and bindis!?!?? How racist that they enjoy how it looks!?!?!? Culetreal aproiatin!!!!
Honestly Tumblr, shouldn’t you be glad that people at Coachella are showing appreciation and amiability towards these cultures? Isn’t it a good thing that people are reacting to these cultures with good vibes, rather than reacting with mockery and scorn? Isn’t it a nice for other cultures to know that we value their customs and see them as something worth replicating ourselves? Shouldn’t they feel flattered? Since when did it become bad?
Tumblr whiny crybaby: We need to be more diverse and and accepting of things different to us. We need to stop being so western centric! Tumblr whiny crybaby: Stop doing things that are different! Stop wearing clothes from other countries! Stop stealing their customs! Stop cultural appropriation!
Make up your minds. My philosophy is: I don’t care what people do with their own bodies as long as they aren’t infringing on the rights of other people.
As it happens, white people wearing non-white clothing in a totally innocuous and non malicious way isn’t infringing on their rights. If it is being done to harass, mock and humiliate other cultures, then yes, it’s bad. However, a white girl wearing a bindi isn’t exactly a hate filled display of racism, is it? No. So get over it.
Also, Dennys need to stop pandering to whiny bloggers.
Actually, for anyone who has actually read the comics, people would know that Superman has impeccable combat and leadership skills, displayed especially well from The Dark Knight Returns comic to its sequel.
"straw-poc" "straw-trans" "straw-people". you’re basically saying that none of these people exist. you’re basically saying that these people’s opinions do not matter. tell me again how not-racist/sexist/transphobic you are pls
